The affordable housing crisis is a national challenge, and continued, collaborative, cross-disciplinary conversations are essential to finding solutions for our own community and for the entire country. We are always glad to have the opportunity to share knowledge and engage with fellow housing experts, so we were were honored to host a special tour on May 4th for the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA) annual conference! NALHFA’s mission is to provide leadership in the field of affordable housing finance, and their work includes providing education and resources to members as well as advocating for affordable housing issues at the federal level.
After three days of intensive, expert-led conference sessions about effective housing and development practices, the NALHFA attendees joined the Nevada HAND team at Decatur Commons Senior and Family apartments to see the high-quality buildings, resident-centered amenities, and connected communities that affordable housing finance helps create. Our NALHFA guests enjoyed small-group walking tours around the properties, followed by by a Q&A session and the chance to hear from a Decatur Commons resident.
