What We Do
Developing our communities is the foundation of our work at Nevada HAND. Our real estate development team is intentional about placement of our properties throughout Southern Nevada, working to locate family communities by schools, grocery stores, employment centers, public transportation stops, and more. For our senior communities, access to healthcare, grocery stories, and other amenities is important. Our range of expertise includes:
- Family and senior affordable housing
- Mixed-use developments
- Mixed-income developments
- Workforce housing
- Assisted living
Our real estate development team works with public and private partners to create quality affordable homes, and is recognized for our expertise in development, design, community focus, construction, and management. Our dedicated asset management team ensures that our developments are managed responsibly and maintain their value – for our communities and for our residents.
We often use the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program in Nevada, and work alongside local municipalities, state agencies, and private financing partners to ensure that we’re developing homes that inspire pride of place and address our community’s long-term affordable housing needs.
Our new development on Decatur Rd. and Alta Blvd. in Las Vegas will be one of the largest affordable housing communities in the state’s history, with 240 independent senior homes and 240 family homes, as well as a mixed-use retail component. This exciting development broke ground in February 2020 and has an expected completion date of Summer 2022. This community will exceed the City of Las Vegas’ annual goal for new affordable housing production.
Nevada HAND builds its high-quality homes to inspire pride of place and a sense of neighborhood for our residents, as well as create an amenity for the entire community. Our homes are built through HAND Construction Company, our construction affiliate, and a team of professionals dedicated to crafting communities that last for decades and create “more than a home.”
Our construction team works with our development team, investment partners, property management, and resident services to ensure our properties are appealing, functional, and built with our residents’ needs in mind.

Nevada HAND is proud to offer Resident Services in several of our properties to help our community members lead happy, healthy lives. Our Resident Services are founded on four pillars: Education, Health & Wellness, Financial Stability, and Community Engagement. These provide pathways to future stability and success by supporting and connecting residents to resources like food programming, transportation, employment resources, and resident engagement activities.
Our coordinators are creative, innovative professionals that are dedicated to making our communities “more than a home” and creating meaningful programming for our properties. Each coordinator meets one-on-one with residents to assess their needs and connect them with critical resources and information on assistance and volunteer programs that offer them social, financial, educational, and health-related benefits. Our coordinators work to provide residents with activities and events, like game and movie nights, food drives, donation events, and educational workshops from local partners, to keep them engaged with one another and the community.
Our Resident Services are supported by several community partners to help us deliver services, utilize expertise in our community, and create opportunities to live well. Check out some of our partners below.
