Empowered community members meet challenges and achieve goals to create a thriving and healthier environment. As a member of the national NeighborWorks America network, an affiliation of nearly 250 nonprofit organizations located in every state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, we focus on the four pillars of Resident Services, Education, Health & Wellness, Financial Stability, and Community Engagement, to give our residents the necessary support to live well.

NeighborWorks Week (June 4-11) celebrates the successes of communities and how as an organization, we empower people to enhance their lives. Here at Nevada HAND, we celebrated all month long! At Apache Pines, we celebrated Safety Month with the Clark County Fire Department. Our local heroes shared fire and pool safety tips, answered resident questions and concerns, and gave our younger residents a tour of the fire truck! Their presentation gave our residents the information they need to keep their loved ones and homes free from harm.

At our senior communities, our Transportation team provides complimentary rides to grocery stores, pharmacies, and retail shops. These safe and reliable trips increase our residents’ independence and ability to engage with the community. This month, Transportation has gone above and beyond to arrange special trips to local attractions, including parks, museums, casinos, and shopping malls! Their efforts bring more fun and excitement to our seniors’ typical routines and allows them to explore more of what Las Vegas has to offer.

Every day, our Resident Services team works diligently to provide life-enriching support to our residents. During NeighborWorks Week and beyond, we appreciate their efforts to encourage our residents to achieve their goals and elevate their lives.

Nevada HAND’s Resident Services is founded on four pillars: Education, Health & Wellness, Financial Stability, and Community Engagement. Resident Services Coordinators meet one-on-one with residents to assess their needs and connect them with critical resources, programming, and information that offer them social, financial, educational, and health-related benefits.
